08.20.04 So, there have been a lot of movie reviews lately, huh? Yeah. I liked the wacky essays, myself. Yeah… I haven’t gotten out much. Why don’t you write about your co-workers? They sound pretty hilarious. I’m pretty sure they’d lose something in the translation. Well, your friends have all kind of drama going on… write about them. I’m pretty sure they’d hate that. …how about your family? Same thing. I think they comprise most of my readership. Wow, you have a readership? Kind of. I was going to write about going to Little Steven’s Underground Garage Festival on Randall’s Island, but I skipped it when I heard rumors that The New York Dolls had cancelled on account of being dead. Did they? No. Ha, ha! I heard Springsteen showed up. Shut up. Yeah, I heard it rocked pretty hard. The guy in City said that 30 years from now people are going to lie about having been there, just like at Woodstock. Shut up. You’re going to be one of those people, aren’t you? Shut up. What is a “umlaut” anyway? It’s the diacritic mark placed over a vowel to indicate a change in a vowel sound caused by partial assimilation especially to a vowel or semivowel occurring in the following syllable, especially in German.
